How do you get an Eritrea visa? Just how hard is the process? It’s certainly not the easiest visa to get and famously so. It’s not impossible however and we’re always here to provide you with the necessary support.
First thing you need to do is get in touch with a licensed Eritrean tour operator. Rocky Road Travel have multiple contacts in Asmara and will make sure that the Eritrea visa process runs as smoothly as possible. When you sign up for one of our Eritrea tours we will forward your visa application to our partners in Asmara who in turn will apply at the ministry of tourism. Once approved they will issue a letter of invitation and notify the Eritrean embassy that you wish to apply from. Our best advice is to apply with us as early as possible. The process can take quite a while but 99% of the time it is successful in the end.
The Eritrea visa rules do constantly change so always get in touch for the most up to date info. If you have an embassy in your country then you must apply for the visa from there, if not then you may qualify for visa on arrival. This is the best option by far if they are offering it. This way you just need to print off an invitation letter and present it on arrival at Asmara airport. They will then put the visa straight in your passport.
